Candy :: Adopted!
Candy came to us with Comet, Little Bit and Jenny Jo. She is broke to ride, but hasn't been ridden in 3 years . We'd call her green, meaning she needs an experienced rider. She and Comet are half-sisters and were born within days of each other. They've been together 15 years.
All four of these animals, Candy, Comet, Little Bit and JennyJo were in excellent condition when they came to us. They have not been products of abuse at all. They were relinquished to us because their original owners were unable to care for them any longer and they wanted to see them go to good loving homes.
Candy has been adopted! This is her at her new home with her new owners!
Dear Hope In The Valley Equine rescuers[sic]
Just wanted to write a note to tell you how I'm doing. I had a little adjusting to do to the stall and runs, for some reason I got very attached to their gelding Lego. We were away from each other for a while and I proceeded to kick holes in the walls of my stall.
The vet said it would probably be best if we were in stalls next to each other so they moved us. I also broke several of the posts in the run which the metal fencing was attached to. They are fixing the posts with bigger heavier ones. I am trying not to rub up against them as much.
Jack learned I wouldn't tolerate my hind legs being lifted very high (farrier said is because it hurts me) so he does really well with that now. Jack has ridden me some, but they plan on taking me to the trainer in the spring just to be sure I will be ok for Diane to ride she has a bad back and hip.
I come when I'm called and I like to be petted and I do behave pretty well now, after I found out I wasn't going to get my way. I am glad I have 2 new friends Lego a palomino quarter-horse and Freckles an Appaloosa mare also two dogs, Coco and Blondie.
Freckles and I only tolerate each other. I have a better bond with Diane than Jack. I think it is his voice, but I do try to come when he calls.
So glad I found my forever home here.
