Rest In Peace, Harley.
Harley was a wonderful Pinto/Percheron mix. He came to us with Lady, whose owners surrendered him because they could no longer care for him. He has ringbone and requires special care.
Cole, Harley's owner, taking Harley out taking a stroll for the first time all by himself.
We were so happy to announce that Harley had been adopted to a wonderful family who gave him the best care. We understand that happy Harley now actually went trail riding with the family!
The same family adopted Nala and Lady too. Here is a picture of all three. From left to right: Harley, Nala and Lady.
Harley was awesome with the children.
When they were on or around him, he was as gentle as a lamb.
In late 2010, Harley developed some complications with his ring-boned foot. He was very uncomfortable, and soon other ailments began to appear.
Lilian had Dr. Speer look at him and they tried to make him comfortable, but it soon became apparent that he was suffering beyond reason. The decision was made to put him down.
The decision was especially hard because it would crush the children. They only had a year or so with Harley, and had hoped for many many more.
Harley brought joy many lives...children and adults. We will all miss you, Harley.
Rest In Peace.
