From: 10:00am to 12:00pm
Hope in the Valley Equine Rescue and Sanctuary will be hosting our monthly Orientation beginning at 10am. During this time we will tour the facility, discuss safety rules, as well as get a feel for your horse experience and the volunteer opportunities we have to offer. Each month we will have a special theme or tasks that we all will do as a group. If you choose to come back as a regular volunteer some of the daily tasks available include grooming or brushing the horses, beginning with the smaller, gentler horses. Mucking stalls (cleaning poo), filling water tanks, filling feed buckets, or farm clean up/maintenance are what we typically have the greatest need in. We also are looking for help with tree and grass trimming. Everyone is required to sign a release of liability, and anyone under the age of 18 needs to have a parent or guardian present while volunteering at the rescue, unless otherwise arranged. I want to make sure that everyone who volunteers understands, THIS IS NOT A RIDING FACILITY. Our insurance ONLY ALLOWS for those who are experienced in rehabilitation or as our training staff to be on horseback at the facility. If you are looking for a facility dedicated to equestrian education or simply, the ability to ride, there are multiple stables in the and around the Wichita area that specialize in different disciplines. Bailey Miller and Ann Mueling are our volunteer coordinators. Their contact information is located on the ‘Contact Us’ page
