Find Your Riding Partner

Rideable horses are partners to share the trails or perhaps enjoy a fun show with. At Hope the horses are evaluated for both skills and potential. These horses are categorized into three levels, seen below, in order to more easily match your skill level to the horse’s skill level.

Beginner – quiet, easy to handle both on the ground and under saddle, reliable

Intermediate – thinks independently and may be reactive under saddle while easy to handle on the ground. May require additional training and requires a confident rider.

Advanced – either green or highly advanced under saddle. Sometimes may be unpredictable and/or overreactive. Requires previous experience with training horses or advanced riding skills.

Frank

Frank is the living embodiment of a goofy gelding. He has fun in the pasture and under saddle. A flashy Tennessee Walker cross, Frank is forward and ready to move with a gait that makes you feel as if you are gliding. If you let him he will also glide away with your heart. Frank is a loyal companion and a fun riding partner.

Moonshine

Spirited Moonshine is looking for her partner. She is a smart and flashy lady looking for a partner to hit the trails and hang out. She has been ridden in parades and for kids’ lead-line rides so she’s versatile to boot.

Okie

Skill Level: Intermediate

Sweet Okie girl is a pretty, 12 year old Quarterhorse with a laid back personality. She halters and leads easily, has good ground manners, lifts her feet and is suitable for an intermediate rider. Okie enjoys long grooming sessions, especially if it includes a massage! She is friendly, bright and has a calm demeanor. Snuggling with this sweetheart will never get old!

Psyilk

This Arabian mare Psyilk, formally known as Elegant Psyilk, is the granddaughter of Aladdin. A small but beautiful bay, she is Arabian through and through. Psyilk is ready for gentle rides and pasture companionship. She is trusting and not dominant. This wide-eyed beauty is constantly taking in and processing her environment as she works together with her partner. If trust is important to you, she’s got it in spades.

A cute little redhead, Vegas is no roll of the dice. This sweet little mare is a sure bet. She is gentle, easy going, and in the beginning a little shy but she will be your friend for life when she knows you care.

Skill Level: Experienced

Waylon is a bundle of energy wrapped up in a cute little package. He has a big personality and an even bigger desire to learn and please. At just 6 years old, he rides both English and Western and responds to basic cues. He has immense potential and is looking for his forever person to learn and grow with. He will do best with a confident person who has no fear, but is also willing to be patient as he learns.
