Horses listed in our companion category are truly special heroes. These horses have worked hard throughout their lives and deserve a safe and secure retirement. Sadly, when horses can no longer be ridden, they are often viewed as less desirable. At Hope, we are working hard to change this perception by giving these horses the skills and interactions they need to become companions to both human and equine counterparts.

Baby is one loyal lady. An independent mare but when she falls for someone she falls hard. Baby has become quite attached to a Hope volunteer and when he calls, she comes running with a whinny, across the pasture. Baby is an older Arabian mare. A pasture companion needing extra care and an extra special person.

His salt-and-pepper face shows his age and wisdom, and his warm brown eyes will melt your heart. “Beids” has impeccable ground manners, and readily does what is asked of him; he is an absolute pro for the farrier and the vet. This sweet soul is a favorite to all who participate in the community program, Hope Through Horses.
